Why ASCNT / 001

The ASCNT Observation

Brands aren’t built through transactions or sales. They’re built through belonging. While most retention marketing optimises for the next sale, we use owned channels to strengthen culture, build communities and deepen the relationship between brand and customer.

What We Do / 003

OurApproach

We don’t start with campaigns. We start with culture. We look at what people already love about a brand, why they want to be part of it, and how we can carry that feeling into every email, text, page and interaction. Because people don’t fall in love with brands because they received 15% off.

01

Email

The heartbeat of your brand.

We’ve never understood why a brand can spend years building its identity, only for its emails to look and sound like they could have come from anyone.

So we treat email differently.

Not as a constant stream of discounts, countdown timers and reasons to buy, but as another place for the brand to exist. To tell stories, share ideas, create moments and give people a reason to actually want to open the next one.

02

SMS

Conversations that matter.

Nobody wants another brand texting them every second day.

So we don’t.

SMS is saved for when there’s actually something worth saying. A drop. Early access. Something is happening right now. The kind of message where getting a text feels useful rather than annoying.

03

Landing Pages

The destination.

A landing page shouldn’t just be some text and a form.

It can be a video-led experience. An interactive product reveal. A quiz. A mini-game built around a launch. Or something we haven’t thought of yet.

There’s no set formula. We build around the idea, the brand and the moment. Creating something people actually want to interact with, while making sure that first impression hits the way it should.

04

Pop-ups

First impressions.

Most pop-ups feel like pop-ups.

Ours don’t.

We use them to grow your audience without making the first interaction someone has with your brand a giant box asking for their email in exchange for 10% off.

05

Automations

Relationships that compound.

Most automations are built once, switched on and forgotten about.

We treat them as part of the brand.

From someone discovering you for the first time to buying for the fifth, each interaction should feel like there’s a reason behind it, not like they’ve just entered another marketing flow.

Why We Exist / 004

Behind the Brand

We started ASCNT because, to put it simply, traditional email marketing sucked!

The same 10% off. The same countdown timers. The same constant push for the next sale. Short-term revenue came at the expense of the people receiving it, and somewhere along the way, the brand itself got lost. Then came the other problems, poor design, deliverability issues and damaged domain health.

We thought email could be so much more.

A place to tell stories. Build identity. Strengthen relationships. Create culture. A channel people actually wanted to hear from, rather than another notification they learned to ignore.

But we quickly realised you can’t build a brand’s culture from the outside.

We hated the traditional agency relationship just as much, disconnected teams, surface level understanding and people working on brands they barely knew.

So we decided we wouldn’t operate like one.

When we work with a brand, we want to be inside it. To understand the people, the references, the ideas and the direction well enough that the work feels like it could only have come from that brand.

Not another agency on the outside.

A partner helping build what comes next.
